NewsLinc is a great outlet for News 7 to reach out beyond their squiggle and also a great way for them to get more information to the viewer that they couldn't in a broadcast.
With most of the stories they do a great job getting more in-depth with the story, just like the Nick Charles story. They add something new that makes me keep reading.
They also get breaking news stories across before the show starts, taking them from an hour a day news source to an up-to-date informative station.
The thing I would do differently, is that some writers on the staff merely repeat the story and change a few things around instead of giving more details and keeping it timely and updated.
NewsLinc has a great layout. When you first enter the site, it views as a professional news website with easy access to separate areas.
I really like the special coverage tab. It gives viewers the biggest stories News 7 and Newslinc covers.
The change I would make is similar to Catherine's. More updated information will be more difficult and time consuming, but it would draw in more viewers.

I like how a lot of the stories are paired with video. I enjoy reading the details then having the opportunity to either see a visual of what the story talks about or get to watch a brief interview.
I also like their “Report a Tip” link. It gets the members of the community involved in their news. They can provide details of a story along with photos or videos.
Something I would change is the fact that there are too many spelling and style errors. I feel like this shows a lack of professionalism.
I like how some of the stories have video inside the story and you don't have to go looking for it.
I like how they have the weather with radar in the corner and the site looks neat and well put together.
I wish there stories had more pictures to go with the video, might help if the video doesn't work or those viewing don't have the bandwidth to watch video.
I really like how most of the stories have video and a picture. For me it is sometimes easier to understand something after watching a video.
I like the setup of the website it is well put together it looks professional. It is easy to find a story that you are looking for right away on the website. I also like how they don't just cover Lyndon and St. Johnsbury. They even have news from Concord.
Although each story has a picture a variety of them would make it a little better. If I am reading about a topic I am interested in like a fire or something I would like to see different pictures and angles so I could get a better understanding of what it looked like.
First, on the top right corner of NewsLinc are the links like News 7, facebook and twitter, which are very good links to attract more attention and broaden the website's popularity.
Second, each news has a photo alongside it and some have videos to better feed visitors' eyes and ears. It is a good multimedia website.
What I would like to change is that NewsLinc can have cooperation with other news websites edited by students, like Harvard Gazette and ColumbiaNews.
I like how the format is simple, one main story in the middle and snippets of other stories along the side.
I also like that as often as possible they pair the video with the story.
the one draw back with the stories that have the video is that its a lot of repetition. Take the Bradford story, you could almost take what was written and reorganize it slightly and have a transcript of the video. If you are going to have both the video and story there, use the written story to expand on what has already been broadcast. the updates may not be important enough to warrant a revisit on the show, but the online story is a great place to put that information.
I do like how they cover all of the most important events and stories from around the area. I like how there is a section showing videos also, to keep people more interested rather than just having the article and a picture.
I also like how they do give credit to the person from News 7 who originally wrote the story, even though the person from NewsLinc tweaked it a little bit, or they usually do anyway. But I feel that the photographer and original reporter’s name should go a little higher up on the page so it doesn’t go overlooked.
I think that they either need to put more stories up on a daily basis or not keep older stories that no longer hold that much importance on the site. On the first page of the new section, there is stories from March, I feel like they should keep their news stories more current.
1. NewLink, is good, like most news cites, cause it allows you to get your information, at anytime, rather then worring about seeing the news at a certain time.
2. NewLink, also allows for more information, because there is not the time limit of the hour show.
The thing I would change is more videos and picture to go along with the stories.
I have to Agree that the first thing that I liked when I got on NewsLinc what how easy to use their computer format is.
The second thing I liked is the updates on a story that I did. It brought the photo of the guy the police caught to the table where as I ran out of time to get that on News7.
something I would do differently would be doing some reaarrageing of the video to help fix the stories. You know make them make sence. I want Newslinc to make me care.
News link is something that the community looks at to get there news during the day. There are many people in the north east kingdom that will watch the schow every night at 5:30. But when you cant get to your tv or you want newsd during the day this serves a great spot to get thats local news.
The layout I like...
I like the space between the storys and the size of the storys on the page.
I would change the header of the page it doesnt really go with the colors of the station and it is not really that exciting.
